Toyota ’s full-size Tundra pickup isn’t a typical selection for a retro-style hot rod custom, but that didn’t stop the Japanese automaker from creating its own 1950s-style muscle truck at the 2009 SEMA Show in Las Vegas.
Toyota started with a basic two-wheel drive, regular cab Tundra with the automaker’s 5.7-liter V8 and six-speed automatic and began piling on the vintage-style upgrades.

A maple-lined bed, aluminum side panels and a pair of Fender guitars address the situation out back, while a flame-style matte finish paint job with a sufficiently vintage 1950s-look Toyota logo add style to the front fascia. The Tundra Hot Rod rides on Bonneville Moon Headlamps and signals its presence with a Cherry Bomb exhaust system.

Inside, the Tundra Hot Rod got a “Tuck and Roll” interior with a custom headliner, unique bench seat and hand-turned brass control knobs on the dashboard.
