Toyota used last year’s SEMA in Las Vegas to launch its all new Corolla and Matrix, and the Japanese automaker is continuing its new car trend in Vegas with two custom versions of its new Venza crossover. In addition to the two one of Venzas, Toyota also showed off a host of unique creations.
Although Toyota is best known for practicality and reliability, the Venza SportLux shows off the automaker’s wild side. The SportLux swaps its grocery store duties for some serious performance, which includes a lowered suspension, a body kit, oversized wheels and tires and a set of performance brakes. Underhood, the SportLux receives a TRD-sourced supercharger, although no power figures were released.
The SportLux’s interior receives a healthy dash of sport, with black and red leather seats and a fully customized dashboard.
The Venza ASV (Active Sport Versatility) is a more modest take on the Venza, but still sports plenty of SEMA-worthy aftermarket parts. Intended for the more active lifestyle, the ASV adds a Five Axis body kit and 20 inch wheels. Behinds those 20 inch rollers lurk TRD performance brakes, giving the Venza some added stopping power.
Toyota ’s booth was filled with other one of customs, including a Tundra co-developed with Ducati, a throw-back Tacoma pickup truck and a radical RAV4.
