1115 you can't find a link saying GM is resposible for truck fires either. Besides i'd rather have a truck catch fire so I can stop and get out than the steering shaft failing and crashing which they have on the prius and had on the 4runner and other trucks. Oh and I almost forgot the 2007 tundra where the yoke on the driveshaft breaks and punctures the gas tank and can cause a FIRE. So suck on that you bias tard

Do you have links to the Prius causing fire? Unlike you I won’t use a mousetrap defense lol
When the NHTSA can find that Toyota is responsible for engine sludge, frame rot and unintended acceleration then it is an issue
The GM truck fires along with that 3800 series engine (in many of the cars you sell) catch on fire and there have been recalls and actual solid proof.
I wouldn’t expect a grown man who has to sell Pontiacs for a living to understand that.

"Toyota doesnt ever have to worry about GM Hyundai maybe and Honda definetely GM is no competition for Toyota"

that is why GM has been outseling Toyota in the US and around the world since Toyota's inception. Your comments are so hard to understand its hard to respond. LAst month Toyota was supposed to pass GM and they came up 70k units short. Toyota is only gaining share because Ford and Chrysler are collapsing. In the three major world markets where GM and Toyota compete GM is ahead. GM is way ahead in Europe and China and slightly ahead in the US. In Japan there is little foreign competition.

Hell, he's not smart enough to be a monkey... BTW, I love how out of all all the investigations going on, only GMs are actual problems. All the stories of Toyota engine sludge, frame rot and unintended acceleration are to be ignored. But allegations of engine fires? Ooooohhh, that's actually a factory defect!

Also there have been prius' that started on fire, so holy hell must be the dumb engineers. You bash engineers, but are not smart enough to be one yourself. If there is a problem in the US it is that people like you live here 1115

Your right 2 is too many. But what I said is they don't know why. I wasn't suggesting any of the reasons are what happened. I'm just saying you never know. If it was engineering, so be it, but don't ever think toyota is immune to this happening. My pesonal belief is that with all the companies rushing to beat each others models out the door, the test time is greatly reduced. Thats why the number of recalls have greatly gone up in recent years(all brands)How many times have you heard "this vehicle was released 6 monthes before planned" such as next years models sent out in the winter/spring instead of the fall.

You said it, must be true. As far as gm trucks, nobody knows, its such a small number (like 2) out of hundreds of thousands. It could be owner neglect, add-ons installed wrong, or even rodents making a nest. I see mice carry paper, leaves, and string under the hoods of trucks all the time. And guess what? They like to put it where its warm.

Please tell me when I said Japanese cars never break down Use copy and paste
That will negate your question then you can answer my question - Why are Gms trucks burning homes down ?
Toyota doesnt ever have to worry about GM Hyundai maybe and Honda definetely GM is no competition for Toyota

triple on stupid provides no proof of anything he says.

I saw a feature in my local paper about a guy who just retired his 94 escort after 200k miles or so. He listed all the repairs he had ever done and it wasnt much at all.

When Toyota's sales are down 21% its critical for idiots to try and distract us from that fact with baseless insults. Toyota peaked in the US market in 2007 in terms of sales. Trust me. Even if they dont have to worry about Ford and Chrysler they do have to worry about GM, Hyundai and Honda.

my 2007 5.7 liter Tundra averaged 19 mpg with just a little effort on my part not 8 or 9. I'm sure with more effort, that I can gain atleast 1 or 2 mpg, and on and on. Some of you guys who like to bash me having a truck drive your cars to a point where they don't too much more mpg's than my truck. Get over it already. As far as the reporting of sales declines, I strongly agree that the comparisons of sales declines in the story should compare "apples to apples". Obviously, this story just doesn't do that. I'm not a toyota, gm, ford.... hater. I just drive what I like to drive and at this time it's my tundra.

1115 i'm glad to hear from you, seeing you know every vehicle owner on the planet and the problems they have. Tell me this, if jap cars never have problems why do their dealerships employ technicians, buy special tools, and need all that service information if they never break? Get your head out of your biased ass, all you like to do is argue. If you want to debate something you could start by using some facts.

crash, as fun as it can be, don't try to engage 1115 in a fair argument. He will change the subject and claim all sorts of crap, then apparently forget anything that doesn't fit his model of the automotive world.

But watching him in those credit report commercials is sure fun. You know, the guy who's legs are sticking to the vinyl and his posse's getting laughed at...

Oh yes, all fords have problems and barely run and toyota is the car company that is going to save the planet and reverse green house gasses with their awesome fuel mileage vehicles. Unbelievable. What does the 5.7 tundra get for mileage again? Is it 8 or 9mpg. Depends on who you talk to. Give it time. More and more people are beginning to see that light and realize that toys are not all they are cracked up to be. The margin is shrinking and all you toyota fan boys know it. As more and more parts of toyotas shiny armor begin to fall off the public will become more aware of the closeness of all brands, not just ford and toyota.

LLN IS VERY BIASED IN ITS REPORTS ON TOYOTA AND FORD!

They report Ford's sales down 28% and Toyota down 11%. Ford's sales decline of 28% is reported in units actually sold, whereas Toyota's 11% decline is the average sales per day. Since there were only 24 sales days this year in June versus 27 last year, Toyota's real unit drop (apples to apples with Ford) was actually over 21%.
.
LLN, please try to have some integrity in your reporting.

adjusted for selling days, is more accurate IMO, so the 21.4% is a better number to use. Of course, LLN will try to candy-coat anything Toyota, so they'll use the 11.4%.

1115 by the way, I have a 2003 focus hatch with 110k and in total repairs in 5 years of aggressive driving probably do not total over $600. Yes the early one's had some issues. However if you want to compare the past with the future I will definately play that game with toyota. Ten years ago how many reaclls did toyota have? In the last three years how many? How many cracked frames on their trucks? Toyota is surviving on their reputation from years ago as much as ford is battling theirs from the same time frame. Was their a big difference then? yes. Is there a big difference now? I don't think so and many people are starting to agree.

The rise in Sequoia and LX 570 sales only serves to illustrate that the gap is widening between the classes. The rich don't give a sh*t if gas hits $10 gallon.

25k for a car that gets 40-45 or 16k for a focus that gets 35mpg. You do the math.

How many MPg does the Focus get when its broken down on the side of the road ?
Stupid analogy Ford cant be compared to Toyota or Honda in anything. Even if the Mpg was that good youll just put the money into repairs Check all the previous Focus's

the different rates are based on selling days or unadjusted sales. Toyota sales dropped 21% per selling day but 11.5 overall. There were two less selling days in 2008.

the media and Toyota PR people say one thing about Toyota's lineup and the sales figures say another. How much longer will we have to read about how Toyota cares about the environment and reads long term gas price trends better than Detroir automakers?

I am not buying these Prius excuses. Why are they running out of batteries all of a sudden? Last year they had no supply problems and now suddenly they cant find enough batteries and sales are down big time.

I find this interesting that left lane is reporting a 11.5% drop while yahoo and others are reporting a 21.4% drop. Who is telling the truth here?By the way, anybody who pays 2k over for a prius should be hit in the face with a shovel. Could there be a dumber purchase. 25000 for a car that gets 40-45 or 16000 for a focus that gets 35mpg. You do the math.

Ahh, I think the sky is acutally falling on GM, Ford, and Chrysler. Check you US auto stock profilio, you will probably need to cry. Maybe GM can give 0% finance for 10 years on all their cars and trucks so they can break even for this year.
