I bet right before race wars a pair of sr20’s would fetch a fine price (shoves guys head into an empty honda engine bay)

I love these movies…not only are they entertaining to watch, but awesome to make fun of at the same time!

I have a feeling that this movie could be by far the most “realistic” of them all, but because of the first two movies it already has so much going against it. I suppose that’s the point of suspension-of-belief for entertainment’s sake.

This one looks like it actually uses reall footage of cars, unlike the last one thatwas like 90% CG.

The Fast & The Furious series (to me) is like the Jerry Falwell of the racing community.

The only people who will enjoy watching this are the ones who either THINK they know about racing, or the ones that don’t race at all.

It’ll be like most of the other movies out. If you can turn off your brain and enjoy chase scenes and hot girls, it’ll be fun!

Society gets the movies it deserves.

dude, if you can turn off the fact that they are horribly inaccurate, the action sequences more than make up for it. As an avid racer (on the track, 1/4 mile and autocross) I enjoyed the first two because they were PURE FICTION…and fun to make jokes about, and point out the mistakes. I can’t wait to do the same with this one

If anyone ever watch the Hong Kong movie – Initial D that based on the famous Japanese comic about street car racing, you know why this “fast and furious” come up with this Tokyo drift. Initial D (D stands for drifting) the movie is very cool, and the story is more a personal journey on finding one’s love and talent in cars.

I wish this “Fast and Furious” will not ruin the legacy as if the Americans are the best after all.

I’ve seen Initial D. That movie isn’t a Hong Kong movie. It’s a Japanese film based in Japan with Japanese spoken by the characters. It’s okay, but it’s marketed for an Asian audience, so Americans might find it a bit weird.

shooter, you’re right. My bad. It’s a Hong Kong movie. I looked at the cast and was reading the wrong side of the column. I just remember that the spoken words when I watched it were japanese, so I assumed it was Japanese.

well, I think they’re trying to cash in on the new Drifting craze in america. An awful lot of kids are picking up AE86 corrollas and 240sx’s now a days, and the D1GP has an american side now….drifting is coming, it just hasn’t hit all of America, this film is going to try to cash in on what it has hit so far in the way only a big budget picture could.

Now that Rally is an X-Game event, how long before we see a fast and furious rally movie? More importantly, how long before I’ll have to swear off all motorsports completely?

Also, is anyone else insulted by how much of a dumb redneck the american character seemed to be portrayed; and was I on crack or was little bow-wow in that trailer?

some scenes were shot right in downtown LA, on grand ave (underground path) starting from 4th street to koskuizko. I know that cus I live there (only two apts in the area) and they shot those stupid drift scenes for 1 month straight (nov ‘05) They redecorated the roads and put up fake japanese and chinese signs. quite lame. i’ll probably still go watch it.
