One of the perks of working in the field of automotive journalism is the occasional ride and drive event in which several manufacturers come together and present a myriad of fun to drive/touch/feel/see/smell/admire/envy vehicles. At this particular event, mother nature decided to rear its ugly head and blow a few trees around…and down.

Naturally, the one tree that failed to get a grip on life – and the ground – became a not-so-desirable hood ornament on a shiny new Aston Martin Rapide – base price of only $199,950. Although Leftlane was busy recording track time during the incident, our friend and colleague, Joel Feder from Accelerate Mpls, managed to snag a few photos of the brutal aftermath.

As the photos show, a beautiful black Bentley Continental Supersports had a a bit more luck than the Rapide, reportedly suffering no actual damage despite mild contact from some smaller branches. The Rapide, unfortunately, managed to take a solid hit right to the hood and windshield, rendering both effectively destroyed. Also wiped our passenger-side mirror was also knocked off…left hanging by the electronics wiring.

Feder says that a transport is already en route to whisk this beautiful four-door away, no doubt for a round of mighty expensive repairs. Either way, we’re going to guess the repair bill for this incident will top the $11,000 for the Porsche Turbo which we recently reported on (after a journalists son drove it through their garage door).
