Under the direction of the Japan’s Supra Owner’s Club, tuner Curve Desgin put together an ultra-widebody kit for the 1993-2001 Toyota Supra. Called the “S2 Supra Wide Style e2000,” the kit includes components from a number of parts makers, including GullCuore and WORK. The design allows room for massively wide rear wheels and tires. The tuners used a 1998 Supra as the basis for the project, but left no body panel untouched. As you’ll see in the gallery after the jump, virtually every part of the car has been tweaked or modified…

let’s see…I care and so do thousands of others out there that are fully aware of just how raw the supra really is.
But you don’t care because you don’t know what’s up. And thats cool. Not everybody can be in the know, or be educated about the things they comment on. It’s ok. The world needs people like you. Because without people like you, all of us smart people would feel average. But thanks to you, and those like you, we have real evidence that smart people are also better people. Thanks.
Go Supra!

I really like the diagonal lines on the sides.
Hmm. The japanese really have a great thing going. They make pretty boring cars in the factory so they’ll be inexpensive and reliable, and then the people that buy them get to make them cool looking and fast and race-interiored, and all completely personalized– something they can be proud of. Pretty brilliant if you ask me.

i dont get it. whats the point of a widebody kit? is it like extended fender flares on a jeep, so that the tires dont go too far past the fenders of the car, making it illegal, or is it to just make the rear end look terrible?

“and why didnt they put bhp or quarter-mile or 0-60? too embarassed by them?”
The kit doesn’t include engine modifications, therefore there is no point in posting bhp or quarter-mile or 0-60. Its just a wide body kit, thats all.
The ignorance of these comments is stunning. You guys don’t give any respect to anything but your absolute favorite types of car. The Surpa is an extremely capable car, so you all need to get over your ignorant biases. And E M, LETTA is right, Supras do retain their values extrordinarily well. A Supra Twin Turbo can sell for anywhere between 40 and 60 grand, and thats 10 years old! My 1999 Audi A8 (originally priced around $80,000, but i purchased it on ebay for $21,000) is worth about $12,000 right now, and it is in perfect condition.
Scotty is right, someday the Supra will be a collectors car. It practically is already.

Last I checked, this was more than just a pile of urethane. Veilside kits are actually designed (and tested) to enhance the aerodynamics of the car, rather than just act as a show-piece. Some of you LLNer’s are worse than republican lobbyists in the US government. Just because its not in your interest doesnt mean you have to shoot it down.
And to address the comment about this car never being intended for high-speeds, think again. This car was made so that toyota could compete in various sanctioning bodies’ events…the car came with 276hp to meet Japanese government regulations at the time (not sure if they are still in place), that capped the power output of all domestically-sold cars to the stated figures. The 2JZ-GTE engine is capable of supporting upto 600hp with the stock internals, and with basic upgrades can be daily driven at about 450-475hp at the wheels. While it isnt the lightest car in the world, its certainly able to keep up and outrun cars at twice its value. remember, this car isnt really meant to be a drag car, and is better suited on the circuits. the gearbox on this car is a joy to row, and 2nd-thru-5th really give you the pulling power to outrun just about anyone.
A lot of people here tend to dismiss modified cars as trash. Just because it isnt as fast as your M3 from the factory doesnt mean its not capable of whooping your ass. Remember, these cars are old, and the fact that they are still running and being idolized today is a testament to their quality. And for the record, I dont even drive a japanese car…I drive a VW, so dont start with all that ricer bull****.

I don’t personally like how it looks at all but I am full aware that above 600 horsepower an MKIV Supra can develop problems with traction.
Maybe this is why the Skyline GT-R still held the advantage in its ability to manage similar horsepower figures with its indestructable AWD system.
As long as it works and gets major horsepower under control, I think it’s a good thing. last gen Supras are impressive cars.

danny, you might be interested to note that while the Supra was designed to be a track car, it hasn’t won a single race with the 2JZ-GTE inline-6. Awesome, no? Phht – simply put, this car is not a good track car, it’s too heavy and has a bad engine. Not to mention it’s hideously ugly (both standard and modified).
Mk. III Supra is where it’s at. The twin-turbo versions were very good.
BTW, this Supra reminds me of the ABFLUG Supra.

So why is this article being posted three or four years so late?
A little history on the rights to car. It was originally built with S9500 Ab-Flug parts in 1999-2000. Due to the preference and licensing problems the President of the Supra Owner’s Club of Japan had, Veilside front and rear end pieces were added. This car is from atleast 2000. Very old news. And to all the uneducated people. NO. Veilside does not test their parts in a wind tunnel unless it is a competition car. This is not a competition car, and 80% of all cars they make are as such as well. Veilside does not offer any claims of performance gains for their kits. Oh btw, that car is a POS. An embarassment. WOW.
