Tuner gets 610 horsepower from Lamborghini Gallardo GTV

01/18/2007, 7:19 PM

By admin

Tuning firm IMSA has put together a package for the Lamborghini Gallardo that delivers increase performance and a unique look. Called the Gallardo GTV, the tuned super car offers 610 horsepower at 7900 rpm, thanks to a tweaked V10 powerplant.

Maximum torque is 655 Nm at 5300 rpm, meaning the all-wheel-drive system had to be modified to cope with the increased power. What’s more, the Gallardo’s chassis was tuned for even better handling and stability.

The necessary grip is provided by broad 245/30 ZR 20 front and 325/25 ZR20 rear tires. IMSA’s focus was on muscular design and, thus, the Gallardo Spyder is equipped with new front and rear aprons and flared wheelarches as well as distinctive spoke wheels with central locking and a discreet rear spoiler. Why can’t you say that this Lambo is good without saying they kick Ferrari’s ass? But now that you did..That’s utter bull****. It just is, I’m sorry. You can like Lambos better, and hey, why not? The next guy could like porches better. But statistically, Lambo’s do NOT kick Ferrari’s ass. Not in heritage, or performance.

I read somewhere, probably Car or evo magazine, that the majority of Lamborghini drivers order manual, while Ferrari buyers go with paddles; that says something. Besides whose technologies would you rather have in your car, Audi or Fiat? (I love Fiats, but come on…)

Hey Nikee, I’ve seen this car in person it belongs to a mutual friend of mine. he hired a photographer to take some shots while he was in vancouver. The car is located in Calgary Alberta Canada. The Owner also has an Enzo, twin supercharged 360, and a Saleen S7 Twin Turbo. The car in the pics is actually for sale check it out at http://www.zrauto.ca along with some other sweet tuner ferrari’s and lambo’s. http://www.zrauto.ca/car_view.cfm?car=776&cartype=1 is the actual link straight to the car.

Whoa whoa whoa, Audi’s being better then Fiat’s has NOTHING to do with it. C’mon now, let’s not even go there. Ferrari developes their own technology, you won’t see Ferrari’s engines in a Fiat or vise versa. If you want to make that comparison Audi verses Maserati would be better (in terms of sharing technology anyway).

lotusfire is right, fiat group is technically on paper not the owner of ferrari. And the ferrari technology all comes from f1 and other racing divisions… not fiat.
anyway, the performance upgrades sound enticing, but i think putting kits and stuff on beatiful cars makes them look worse. the wheels look like they came off a hotwheels car.

I am almost positive that there is a lot of Audi in Lamborghini, beyond switch gear… but I could be wrong.
As for Fiat parts in Ferrari, I have no idea, but it sounded good. Fiat owns 56% of Ferrari. Mediobanca owns 29%.

How is Lamborghini kicking Ferrari’s ass??? Porsches AND Ferraris are faster around the track. and I’m not trying to say that’s what makes a car good, but I don’t know where this Ferrari getting there ass kicked comes in. Ferrari can’t make cars fast enough for their customers, so I know for a FACT that Lambo and Ferrari both giving eachother enough space in that area. Where’s the butt kicking coming from? Ferrari’s heritage seems more notable to me but I suppose that’s arguable at best, and anything beyond that is personal taste. If I’m totally missing something, please don’t leave me in the dark. Enlighten me.

meanpants555, liking Lamborghini better for whatever reason is understandable. It’s cool that Audi and Lambo Develope together. I just don’t know where this whole Lambo kicking Ferrari’s ass is coming from. I don’t know if you were trying to say that Lambo’s better because of audi or not.

The numbers are what these cars are all about….
I mean, they are race cars for the street.
Since Audi added to the parts bin of Lamborghini the Lamborghini cars have been more user friendly. However, the Ferrari F430 can by itself more then handle the Gallardo, (which has hard time with BMW’s M6) and does a damn good job up against the $100k more expensive Murciélago. Now consider… these cars are all about the numbers.
