As far as I know anti-dumping contstraints are in place to prohibit this kind of activity.I hope Hyundai is not up to their old tricks.Good comedy.

deantj,Engine swaps.Sounds like some clowns destroying the resale value of a car.Transmissions don’t fall out of factory VW cars.Whatever you are referring to has something to do with an untrained backyard or whatever mechanic who obviously doesn’t know what he was doing.Hyundai was also taken to court for “dumping” in past years.(Unloading their products inappropriately).Is that happening again?The economic concept of “Dumping”?

Sorry, but the Ford front drive transmission maybe the worst of all time…and yes is you are flogging around your automatic Jetta GL they might give as well…the Haldex quattro system is more than adequate to tame 385 horsepower and much more..this version of the Beetle will more than likely not be an auto…. and deantj-your comments here are not welcomed, they are highly inappopriate and really do mimic someone who is has not come of age yet. You may correct me, but these are computer renderings, right? The only point this tuner has, how barely perceptible, is trying to turn a Beetle into a “Porsche”, -just like in the good ol’ days with the Type 1. I still believe it could be fun making a true “Volks-Sports-Wagen” based on the Beetle, but this isn’t it.

deantj, if you don’t have anything intelligent to bring to the conversation, go spend some time growing up. Oh, and thanks for pointing out that I misspelled Beetle, you are so smart.
Seeing as (for example) the Volkswagen Golf has been the best selling car in Europe for many years, and third best selling car in the world as of last year, luckily not everyone shares your narrow minded opinions.

uhhh how about you put it in ANYTHING besides a beetle, any luck for a high performance version of the beetle was long lost years back when VW had their chance and never put it past concept with the RSi Beetle. Its a shame, because that could have been considered something great and really boosted the image of the car. Instead its just a queer-mobile.

I was initially going to comment on the car, but I first have to comment on the post that should be directly above this one. Good job. Not only have you managed to twist sentence structure in order to bend logic, but you’ve also managed to amuse yourself with your own trick. The first rule of being a comedian is not to laugh at your own jokes. Of course, it wasn’t really funny to begin with.

Now, somebody had mentioned something about a Quattro, 385hp VW Beetle. Awesome, that’s just plain awesome. Technically, it could be done with front-wheel drive, but the verdict is sort of out on whether or not it’s of any value. I do know there’s at least one 8-second CRX in existence, and I think that’s an admirable, albeit specific, argument in favour of high-power, front-wheel drive cars.
