Tuner turns Porsche 996 into 997

Uber-tuner Hamann has created a conversion kit for the previous-generation Porsche 911 (996) that transforms its appearance to match the current generation (997) model. The conversion kit is available for the 996 series models Carrera, GT3, Carrera 4S as well as the Turbo and GT2. With the new model — the 997 — Porsche reverted back to more classic styling, including round headlights. So in a way, this kit makes an old Porsche look like a newer Porsche, which looks like an even older Porsche. Images after the jump…

Still looks like a 996 read end to me! The 993 is still the best looking 911 ever.

Wow i think this may even look better than the 997. The new front end with the old bulging rear end looks fantastic.

Looks fantastic. I still always wanted RUF version but that is just me.

Wow, the answer to the question noone asked. Why not just buy a 997? I guarantee the Hamann kit isn’t cheap and the retained value on resale for body kits is weak.

Indeed,996’s rear is more beautiful than 993(IMO),but I personally think,HAMMAN shouldn’t have combined it with 997

Getting price on the front end conversion cost. Does anyone know how it looks in person after the conversion and how it holds up on a long term basis. I live in NJ.
