Heres whats gonna happen, since car manufacturers were so fast to move in to China. They took any chance they got to get in and that might as well have been their demise since the Chinese Goverment is requiring all Auto manufacturers who want to sell in the mainland provinces have to team up with local car makers and can only half and half. And China gets to make out with new technology brought in by VW/GM/ etc. Awesome gameplan for China but, once China starts making reliable and aesthetically pleasing models they WILL be the #1 Auto makers in the world.

My fault in presuming you actually had half a brain to work out that lexus and vauxhall were not in the same category. Lexus would be compared to Audi (the crapest german make). Caddy and chevy are crap hence why their new models are being tested in europe by european engineers. Ever wonder why americans only buy them? because they can’t actually compete with vauxhall let alone the Mercs,BMW,Audi hell even the Jaguars, Saabs,Volvo, Alfa’s or anything european.

As i come from england I can assure you that we brits won’t touch any of their cars (including the MG’s) because we demand value for money and can tell the difference between good and crap cars.

Hence why we don’t buy many lexus, chevys, caddys, anything chinese and anything else that is inferior to vauxhall (Opel, holden or saturn).

The driving force behind mainlanders has always been money. They are able to adapt living pretty much everywhere around the world, don’t you think they’ll adapt when it comes to money? Besides, I think the OEM stuff they produce (computer parts, etc.) has been good enough for US consumption, so if required they really have the tools to do it. Not sure about the crooked part, I think jews are much more cunning when compared to other races but that discussion isn’t related to cars.

There is a silver lining in all of it. They are commies and as such they have no morals. They compete only on the price of knock-offs. Japanese products were of low quality, but Japs do have morals (or we nuked morals into them), so they could make a transition from competing on price to competing on quality. I don’t believe Chinese are capable of transition. At some point somebody with cheaper labor will come along and this will be the finale to Chinese industrialization. They are way to crooked to invest into quality.

I would not trust Chinese version of AK-47, but all Africa is full of them (and perhaps most of Asia). I would not let my children to play with Chinese toys due to led content, but there are a lot of parents who not aware of this problem. There was article in NY Times today that Asia is full of chinese made scooters and motorbikes with names like Yomoha and Dacati. They are ****ty, but cost 25% of Japanese models that made locally (not in Japan). The moral is: for each piece of **** there is a crow to nourish on.

Well, meet China’s GM – SAIC. I would actually buy from this company’s partners (the chinese Buick Park Avenue). With GM and VW being China’s #1 and #2 foreign automakers respectively (GM sold a 1 million cars in 07), you can bet your ass that SAIC will be around for a while (unlike the other smaller chinese POS that will fail and be bought up by their bigger competition soon).
