Ferrari F430 or anything Lexus (even a supercar LF-A)? I’d take the Ferrari and save $15k. I just cant see Lexus playing in the same league and surviving. It would be stretching it to go head-to-head with a Porsche 911 Turbo but to price it at over $200k is ridiculous.

I don’t see a $225k price tag when most of the line is $40-$70k and one hybrid touches $100k.

Lexus needs to add a supercar name to the mix to get that much for a car. Think of the Mercedes Mclaren. Lexus needs a partnership like this to ask this much for a car.

$225,000 usd. huh? Still more proof that Toyota and Lexus vehicles are overpriced. This makes the GTR all the more appealing considering the performance figures. Heck this even makes the 911 Turbo and the F430 appealing when you consider the price.

I’m not saying the technology and performance figures are anything to laugh at. Not at all. I guess its the idea of a Toyota costing more than a house thats disturbing.

We learned some more specs about this car a couple weeks ago. Full carbon fiber chassis. 2 limited, very small, production runs. Sub 3 sec 0-60. Engine will be used in next-gen LS and GS to offset costs.

This could just be a rumor since nothing has been stated by Lexus. Does anyone know what the final price of the ZR1 will? I mean without Dealer Mark-up. It would seem crazy for Lexus to price this at establish supercar/ exotic car prices without really proving its worth. I have to admit I haven’t been crazy about this Design since it came out, I for one hope that the final design looks way better than the pics that have been on the net.

As it may be true that this is target towards a much more affluent buyer than those the read or comment on this blog. There is a thing as “overpricing a product”, just ask Maybach and even Rolls. Both brands suffered from their pricing, it looks like Lexus might be repeating their missteps.

(Rant) Please stop with the racist comments about Ball player and Rappers being the only ones to buy something like this any blingedout vehicle. I’ve seen more Caucasian driving blinged vehicles than Blacks, Asians & Latino. Last I checked Jay Leno, Jeremy Clarkson and Jerry Seinfeld haven’t rapped or played for any major Athletic team and they buy all types of vehicles include something like this. Anybody who really like car like them all from the most whack hybrid to the most Ridiculous Tuned Exotic Car. Stop stereotyping people. (Rant Over)

I hope their production run isn’t very large because I can’t see to many of these being sold. It’s a good looking car, don’t get me wrong, and I’m sure it performs well, but that’s a hell of a price range. The GT-R will almost surely smoke it for just a portion of the price. ( and they’re not going to get Ferrari loyalists, not going to happen )

The important thing here is that Toyota/Lexus can give a rats arse whether anyone posting on here would spend USD 200k on that car, because you are not the audience they are aiming for. Now, we can assume this car will be in limited production and with that said that basketball and American football players, plus rappers and other loaded blokes will buy every last one before they even hit the showroom floor.

The car will be a relative success and how you feel about the price is of no real importance.

Part of the reason someone can charge $200k is because the car has to exude that kind of worth … in this case, this thing looks like a $50k Chinese Ferrari copy. I don’t care if it beats a GTR in terms of performance, it looks pathetic. The NSX looks better than this two decades later. The reason Ferraris can demand that kind of money, albeit along with high maintenance, is because there is an inherent beauty in their designs that people love … this thing just looks wrong.

Part of me thinks pricing it over $200,000 is fine. It might not be “worth” that much, but if you price it up that far, people think it’s special. People with more money than they know what to do with will buy them up. Make it super exclusive, and you’ll have a killing off each one. Maybe it only costs them $45,000 to manufacture… that’s a heck of a mark up from Lexus’ standpoint.

As an automobile enthusiast I am interested in the final specifications, and what it can do versus whether is a Lexus/Toyota. If it earns its stripes, I will take no credit away from it. I bet they will be completely sold-out. The engineering involved in this automobile has to be nothing short of phenomenal.

200k for a Lexus is steep. Lexus is an amazing high quality brad that all the other automakers use as a benchmark, but this thing better do atleast 3.5 seconds 0-60 and go atleast 210mph for that kind of money. You can get 2 zr1′s for one Lexus, but it will take 2 vettes to last as long as one Lexus.
