Three-door Kia Pro Cee’d hatch concept announced

09/19/2006, 8:43 AM

By admin

We’ve already seen the production version of the 2007 Kia Cee’d, but the Korean automaker isn’t done with concept versions of the hatchback just yet. At the Paris Motor Show, Kia will present the Pro Cee’d — a high-performance, two-door variant of the car. It’s not clear if the vehicle is intended strictly to foreshadow a two-door Cee’d, or if some of the sporty touches will find their way into a production car as well. Images after the jump…

Besides from the rims I do like this car. And I am sure it will be priced nicely if build. Sadly enough I am also sure you won’t be able to get the likes of leather seats or satnav.

It’s highly derivative, very instyle and thus nothing new. But if this is the direction they are headed, then it is oodles better than previous production cars.

Didn’t Kia or was it Hyundai buy the design firm IDEA?

I like the wheels only in the sense that no one else has done that yet. The redline around the tire is very Matchbox.

What do they call that paint color?

It’s a very generic design, could almost be mistaken for just about anything. That doesn’t mean I dont like it though. Being a Kia it would also be cheap, which is never a bad thing.

Paint colour is horrible for a show car.

Wheels look like some industrial pie-making non-stick bakeing discs. (Maybe watching “How Its Made” on Discovery too much.)

A3 and Mazda3 offspring, but give it somewhere near 200hp and a 6-speed manual, 10 year warranty, and a price around $17,500US, and IT WILL SELL

If it’s a hardtop with frameless doors and windows and the rear window fully retracts I’d buy it.

The detailing on this thing could teach Chrysler designers a thing or too.
look at the way the bumpers and lights meet front and rear, I find it far from generic, it has substance

neat wheels. lambo meets a reverse hubcap. or something. aside from the wheels, I basically agree with every single comment above. you guys are smart.

right.
the panel gaps are wider than the one between Lettermans front teeth.
Typically a prototype will go to extreemes not just in style and design but also to hide things like that.
not bad looking, but is still a diamond in the rough.

Isn’t Proceed and anti balding product? Not a good choice in the name. However, this car will steal sales from the new “rabbit” and if they make one with a powerful engine, nice interior and a nice 6 speed it might steal sales from the GTI and Mini

man that tint looks good, automakers need to stop doing that in their ads, especially since that tint would be so illegal in california. its not fair…i want my car too look like the one in the ads. they should have a disclaimer….

Looks alright but I doubt that it will be stealing sales from the GTi and Mini as (V)ike suggests, I think alot of buyers buying in that class want something chic and well a kia just isn’t.

I don’t know what turned their company around. I must say, their brand image is really starting to improve. This is a great vehicle.
