I always laugh when someone says UAW workers are overpaid. Do you guys like to get paid for your efforts or do you work for free? Building a car does take SOME skill but $6.55 an hours should cover that right? Better yet why not let Wal-Mart take over? They know how to treat workers! NO OVERTIME lazy union worker!!! LOL

let them fail, let the UAW realize that its own policies are punitive on its employer for employing them. Let them outsource their own jobs and lower their own wages or see themselves fail.

It’d be a sad but fair day if the UAW took over Chrysler. However, it may also provide the incentive that they need.

It’s easy to whine when you have no responsibility. Employee ownership would move DC out of the Industrial Age mindset that is dragging down the rest of the US carmakers. The classic function of a Union is to represent the worker’s interests to the management. If the workers become the owners/managers, then the Union becomes redundant. Mr. Hargrove’s rejection shows he’s putting the Union’s interest ahead of its members.

So how does that work? You have a wildcat strike against yourself for slapping an employees wrist when they install seats backwards? You don’t allow yourself to cross the picket line? You run back and forth to both sides of the bargaining table?
