Most high-dollar super cars spend their life tucked away in a cozy, climate-controlled storage facility, never to be pushed to their extraordinary limits. However, that’s clearly not the case with one Bugatti Veyron residing in South Florida.
As the story goes, the owner of the Bugatti Veyron was running the road course at the Palm Beach International Raceway when he received a drag race challenge from the owner of a Nissan GT-R. The GT-R was equipped with some modifications, which apparently gave the Nissan owner a false sense of confidence.
The race was over pretty much as soon as it started, with the Veyron ultimately ripping off a 10.175 second quarter mile at nearly 140mph. The GT-R, meanwhile, crossed the stripe in 10.939 seconds at 125.74mph – impressive in its own right, but not against the Veyron.
Still, the GT-R owner probably spent $900,000 less than the Veyron owner, so he still comes out as the winner in some regard.
