AutoWeek has an interesting look at the 1,000-watt Bang & Olufsen stereo in the 2007 Audi S8. The system is reportedly designed for true audiophiles, providing crystal-clear sound via 14 speakers. “The system is so isolated that passers-by standing outside the big sedan on the floor of the Detroit auto show could not even hear the rasp of AC/DC vocalist Bon Scott and the thunderous crunch of Angus Young’s accompanying guitar riffs playing inside the car,” writes Bradford Wernle. And if the S8’s 14 speakers aren’t enough, you can wait until the arrival of the 2007 Lexus LS 470, which will come with a 19-speaker Mark Levinson reference system, Wernle said. (See our original report on the S8’s Bang & Olufsen system).

uh… uh… why is the car so expensive?
ITS A FRICKIN AUDI WITH A LAMBORGHINI ENGINE!!!!
and audis are premium cars, theyre supposed to be expensive…
though the lexus is a bit overdone… i’d like to know what 19 speakers sound like, but 8 gears in the transmission is unnecessary…
