that 240 HP for the S3 must be a typo. The A3 3.2 get 250, as Ryan pointed out. Mybe they’ll turbo the 3.2 and get somewhere in the neighborhood of 300 – 340.

I’m just wondering if Mahle Powertrain is involved with this, as Audi owned Cosworth (now owned by Mahle) a coupla years back!

Cosworth’s Ford cars absolutely rocked and there’s rumours they will work on the new Nissan GTR too

What i dont understand is why the S3 would put out about 240hp when the 3.2 sportback puts out over 250 alone.

Har har – the market is confused enough, I agree, but still – choice is better than no choice.
And yeah, Golf in a Versace EZunzipper, I agree too, but heeeres the thing: The Audi has much stiffer springs (shite for Europe/ZA, but no matter in US, really) more mass, and more insurance… but – more toys, nicer leather, build quality rivalling Bentley & Rolls-Royce (I mean this seriously) and powerrrrr!

I want one. I want one so bad I almost shat my pants when I saw the photo.

This car should come standard with the sticker: “ACHTUNG! Dies produkt vill cause verr bad incontinece schnell schnell! Standing still even!”

My feeling is that eventually the S models will be substituted by RS models, especially when BMW’s M-cars and the new Benzes’ AMG start coming out.

Audi is in the danger of putting out too many variations of its performance models. Why the S series when you can go directly to the RS series? It will confuse the market.
