Who would not want a car that would cost us low on gas? I mean it is one of the trends now when it comes to cars. The Chevy Volt, or Chevrolet Volt, is probably the most highly anticipated offerings from the Chevrolet Division of General Motors. You’ve heard of this plug in hybrid that will compete against the Insight and the Prius, right? However, you will find troubling reports that dealerships might end up charging far above what they should for the automobile. News of the rumors
were touched off by a response to Edmunds by an unnamed
automobile dealer. It is not the first car that would be done with. Making something expensive at first and then dropping the cost increases demand.

Meanwhile in the two years (best case) before the Volt comes out Toyota and Honda will have pumped out hundreds of thousands of Prius’ and Insights. I also wouldn’t be surprised if 2 or 3 other manufacturers have their hybrids in the showroom before the overpriced Volt hits dealers. I’m willing to bet even Chrysler offers a hybrid before the Volt makes its appearance. In the time it’s taken GM not to introduce the Volt somebody could have started a whole car company. Maybe GM should find out who that is and get them to build the ****ing thing.

I haven’t seen any new Challengers in Las Vegas, yet, but I do see a lot of old ones that have been restored.

You know, funny thing is, I’ve seen ONE damn Charger on the road. I thought it was one of the most plain vehicles I’ve ever seen… nope, didn’t look aggressive, didn’t look muscular, everythings done… modestly.

While I wouldn’t buy a volt, unless they offered a kick ass RWD or FWD coupe version of it or something (which will probably never happen), the fact that IF there is already 34,000 people “willing” to buy this then how many more do you think will buy then when it actually comes out? It’s going to be very high….

The only thing that could potentially screw this up is… Well GM corporate screwing it up first… will also be the greedy dealerships marking up the hell out of it… That I could see screwing it over.

So is it just me in who lives in the Metro Detroit area, but are any of you guys seeing like 5 different Challengers on the road every day? I’m seeing so many of those suckers… Did the R/T and SE come out?

I am hard on GM, but I do believe that they are not misrepresenting the wait list. The Volt will sell—and sell well. More power to GM.

I think more people would buy diesel before this.. Chevy needs to enter the market soon because every other manufacturer has a hybrid in their lineup.. I think Chevy has a long way to go.. thats why they keep coming out with hype ads every other week so they don’t get left behind in the dust..

Prius would sell 34k units in a month if Toyota had the capacity to build that many. Until then, dealers can sell the used ones for even more money to keep up with demand.

Hey you guys, this is good news. What are all of you moaning about?

I’m sure GM will have some way for dealing with mark ups, same as Toyota did for the Prius. They need to seriously pressure their dealerships though, to make these vehicles move off the lots.

They need to sell 50k, bare minimum, to call it any kind of success. That’s over 2k a month.
And a bare minimum of recalls first year.
Until it does that, I really don’t wanna hear the hype.
