Update: Prius will not get auto-parking, but Lexus will

Earlier today, we cited a Local 6 report that indicated Toyota would be bringing “Intelligent Parking Assistant” as an option to the United States on the Prius compact. Apparently, the news channel didn’t get all of its facts entirely straight, and Toyota won’t be making the technology an option on the Prius in the U.S. What Toyota will do, however, is offer it as an option on the Lexus LS 600h, according to a report by CNET. As previously reported by Leftlane, Toyota plans to unveil the new Lexus hybrid luxury sedan next week at the New York Auto Show.

A more limited experiment than the Prius, in case something goes wrong legally.

Haha, manny, I can see that. I think we ought to seal off the California border from the rest of the United States and treat California as a separate country so that we can protect ourselves from that if ever it may occur.
