It’s the republicans that want to drill here and reduce our dependency on foreign oil. But the radical-left greenies don’t want the country’s interests to interfere with Bambi’s morning ****e. If you have done ANY research on the matter you’d know that the resulting environmental impact would be nothing like what these environmental extremists have made it out to be. The republicans were the ones on the senate floor speaking about oil solutions while the lazy freeloading dems refused to stay because they were supposed to be on vacation. And Nancy’s the Speaker for crying out loud!

Can you give me three examples of anything your double-talking dems in congress have done to help the citizens of this country recently? Don’t say it’s “W’s” fault either. You know though… I wouldn’t doubt it if the U.S began refining more oil than we consumed by… 2020 or so. Neither is that far off or being completely optimistic. As it currently stands we have some of the largest refining capabilities in the world, we just don’t dig up as much oil as most other countries. That’s something that may change as well in the next few years, hopefully.

I don’t think blaming it on republicans is going to help us. This article is neither exclusive to Republicans or Democrats- both have their strange, ignoramus ways of thinking that people are tired of. The candidate that I can honestly say is different is out of the picture now, and I’m not going to consider choosing between dumb and dumber.

For us to become a net exporter of “oil”, we would have to reduce our demand for oil to less than 1/3 of our current consumption to be a “net exporter”.

I think the point the author is trying to make is that we would be a net exporter of gasoline in two years, but it will still be gas made from imported “oil”. I still doubt that we’ll have that much extra refining capacity in two years, with no new refineries being built. It’s not like everyone is buying a Prius or TDI tomorrow.
