There is heavy talk of the Corsa being brought as a Saturn Corsa and Corsa R models. Big holdup is crash testing so a revised bumper for US spec, since these engines are already to Eurocode, but will need a revised ecu upgrade for US.

Hi Odie, yes it would be expensive, however that doesn’t get around the fact that we pay far more $ in this country (well, £ actually) than you do in the States. I would bet that IF this came out in the states, it would actually be cheaper for us to buy one in the US, ship it back, and still have saved a couple of thou on the list price. Car prices here suck big time. Basically car prices seem to be double here than the US, so a strict $/£ conversion never works

Nice! I really am starting to shop at Saturn. Astra looks promising. But I doubt GM will bring this over to compete with the Aveo, Accent and Rio5. Maybe they will bring this over to compete with the higher priced Japanese subcompacts like the Fit, which costs $16k+ (READ overpriced!)

No it wouldn’t Odie — it would be below the Astra, which starts at nearly 16 thousand. If it’s more than that, they will either move production of it elsewhere where it is cheaper or the car won’t come to America at all

Very nice looking- I especially love the front grill, but I do agree it looks very shapeless. It would be a great edition to Saturn, or even a new Chevrolet Aveo!

At the current exchange rate, this car would costs ~$25k in the US. That’s a lot $$$ for a subcompact.

GetReal – I think that’s the point of this car. When the prerequisite is a vehicle that returns a 59mpg rating, it’s kinda at the mercy of an engineer. There’s only so much you can do with a subcompact.

With that said, I’d love to see this here as an option from the Aveo. This Opel at least has a few design embelishments versus the Daewoo Aveo.
