Vehicle window stickers to get crash test data

09/07/2006, 6:34 PM

By admin

Starting next year, most vehicles sold in the United States will show potential buyers the scores from federal crash-test and rollover ratings on their window sticker, the NHTSA announced today. The change for 2008 model-year vehicles and beyond comes as part of last year’s highway safety bill, according to the Detroit Free Press. Officials hope the change will make more consumers aware of crash test results, which are normally accessible from the internet or in magazines.

This is NOT good news for Ford and GM — if you haven’t yet dumped your shares, make sure you call your stockbroker before the 2008’s show up on the dealer’s lots!!!

Excellent. I think that’s fair for both the consumers and the companies who do put their minds at providing the best safety. Put it on the table and let the market decides.

Honda has been putting this info on their lineup for a year now. Good to see others are going to follow.

It’s more like forced to admit their weaknesses to the consumers rather than follow.

Well the person who wins the most will be the consumer. And it will force those brands with not so great ratings like GM, Kia, the 06′ Ford Fusion and others to get with the program.

Also, if it’s one more step to keep the chinese crap out of the states, then I am all for it.
