As previously reported, the McLaren -tuned ASC Diamondback Dodge Viper — first shown at the Detroit auto show in January — is believed to be headed for production as an official 2008 Dodge model. It’s not clear if the car will be offered in its present form as a bridge between the 2006 Viper and the next-generation model (there will be no 2007 Viper), or if these recently-spied prototypes are merely testbeds for the new powertrain.
