Video: Ferrari P 4/5 by Pininfarina

James Glickenhaus has put together a brief video of his custom Ferrari P 4/5. The one-off car was created for Mr. Glickenhaus by Pininfarina. Based on the Enzo, the car is valued at $4 million — yes, four million dollars — and was just recently completed. The video show the car in its unpainted state, during the final stages of testing. With any luck, Mr. Glickenhaus will release more detailed footage in the near future. Video after the jump…

What do you think the chances are the production cost was anywhere near the “valued price?” I can’t image any car actually costing 4 million dollars to build. Resale value of $4mil I can believe, since there’s only one.

The 4 million includes the cost of the original Enzo.

The car is a prototype. Of course it was expensive. What do you think the development costs were on the Enzo, Veryon, McClaren F1, etc… they were probably outrageous. I will make one comment on the Veryon though, while it may look OK in a photo, it is absolutely hideous on the road. VW has screwed up Bugatti. Sure everything is functional, but the car has no style.

Concept cars that are one of a kind cost millions but some of them are built from scratch rather than on existing platforms so it makes sense. I think that 4 million is kind of high since they basically just put a new body on an enzo.

People, it is OK to build cars that you cannot afford. There are people can afford them. Get an education and you might be able to join them one day.

Very nice. I think the exhaust should be painted red black or left chrome – The white makes it look like PVC.
Anyway great job again James

I don’t care how much money the thing costs… it is simply ugly. A 4 million dollar car on the same roads as someone’s ancient Ford Pinto..yeah, that’s exclusive..yeah right….PUHLEEZZ!!!

Well, it is certainly more rare than a Veyron, and as they say, exclusivity has its price. And there are always people who have the money to buy a one-off car of that price.

can anyone honestly tell me that if they had the money they wouldnt go to Ferrari & get themselves a tailormade car built by Pininfarina………….. nope didnt think so. this car is the epitome of personal taste, especially as it was built for one person, so quit complaining and dream of the day when you can have a car built to your personal spec, i know i am!!!

I admit the exhaust does look a little funny but since it’s functional in aided the aerodynamics I give it a thumbs up. To everybody who says its ugly, haha what do you drive? Regardless of its unconventional looks this thing is much lighter than an enzo and likely one of the fastest road legal cars on the planet and you gotta respect that.

It’s a good thing they sunk a few dollars into production costs on that video, it’s top-notch.

I can’t wait to see a high quality video of the P4/5 on the road, if only to hear that amazing engine properly. It sounds like the fizzy top end of the Enzo has been tuned out and replaced with solid midrange grunt, and that’s definitely a good thing. Looking at it from behind as it tears away reminds me of something from a sci-fi film – I’d love to have seen the faces of the drivers who saw it on the test run ;)

So yup, even better in motion than it was in the stills. Instead of moaning, people whould be thankful that there are individuals out there with the means to make fantasy cars into reality. The rest of you can go back to browsing the latest GM truck catalogue, although you might want to check it isn’t actually last years.. or maybe the year before that..
