Way better than the average cliche car commercials. And keeps with the VW tradition of unique ads. Hey – didn’t VW change their ad agency last fall? I think they went to the company that had been doing the MINI campaign. Anyhow, my Fast says I should go speed. Bye.

Creepy, good. I think you get a customized fast with the purchase of a GTI. You can select the tail type. The fast is a mutated version of the rabbit logo that appeared on the first GTI’s.

Check out their website too. http://www.vwfeatures.com/?ic_id=home_gti_launch_2006 builds a custom flash movie of a test drive with your specs. A hot(ish) blonde in a miniskirt and fake german accent is your ride along and talks about your selected features. It’s a clever use of the site I think.

Without question the most annoying ad campaing currently being aired. If the intent was to have viewers scramble to find their remotes to mute or change the channel, then this has been a smashing success. Alienating. Offensive. Sophomoric. Irritating.

i dunno..i’ve watched a few of them and tried to get it. it doesn’t jibe with me. seems like a more abstract version of the Little Sprite Guy commercials; a cutesy mascot but it doesn’t make a sound so its silence speaks volumes. these spots feel clunky..when they end i felt like “oh it’s over now so something clever must have already happened…wait what?” etc etc

now the Unpimp my ride commericals.. pretty funny. gotta love a commercial with a trebuchet.

Who does the voice over at the end each comercial? Sound a bit like John Cusack…

The only “Fast” comercial I liked was Takeout AKA Rain whereas all of the “Un-Pimp My Auto” comercials were great.

I am loving the car. And I am loving the commercials. I guess after driving this car, it starts making sense! When you turn your music off, and avoid a conversation, so you can hear your engine; or when you make random runs to the store late at night by yourself for no reason, you see whats all that about! Haha! Now I just gotta weight for my fast to come in, so it can sit in my car!!! I hate waiting

“Fast” is funny, but the commercials are bad.

They says nothing about the car. You know about as much about the GTI after the commercial as before, which is to say very little This concerns me, because when you’ve got no product substance you have to advertise things like 0% financing, Rebates,…or “fast”.

The VW people totally ripped off the “Hypno-Toad” from several Futurama episodes. Fox should sue.

I’ve never hated an ad campaign more. They lost the entire female market with this campaign, especially the female crowd that has been on the recieving end of that treatment. Thank you, VW, for showing women that all male GTI drivers will put the car ahead of them.

Some info for all you folks out there that are dying to buy a “Fast” Doll, there’s rumors of only 600 being in production. This is a lie. If you look on eBay, some ads say 600, 650, 1000, 1500. This is just a big attention grabber.

The “FAST” will be available at your local vw parts counter towards the end of 2006, and will be under the $80 mark.

These commercials are Brilliant. I don’t know if they should be for Volks though. No offense to the Volk peeps, I just think it would be better suited for something more sporty. I haven´t seen many car commercials that good. I mean – that Really makes you want to get in the car shown… to try it out.

Commercials are hillarious. But since when is a 200hp car that barely manages a 7.0 second 0-60 sprint considered fast. Come on Vee-dub the new civic Si isn’t playing around and it’s cheaper, the wrx hasn’t gotten any slower, even mitsubishi’s got you beat with their boat they call the eclipse. Hell even hyuandai has you matched on acceleration, so maybe the commercials should say “as good as korean engineering, for a couple thousand more, and a shorter warranty”.

For all the people who hate the “Fast” commercials, you guys are just uptight mofos who don’t have any sense of humor. It’s a commercial that’s meant to be funny and to draw you in to find out more about the car. It definitely stands out compare to any other car commercials out there.

Man, these are stupid. The rain one is good, but the others suck. One streamlines the car by putting the windows up and one puts it down to listen to the engine? Great call. Extra wieght slow down the car? Whats the use of advertising a 200hp figure if this guy feels the additional weight slows the car down. Should try throwing out the little talking head and drive naked to see if he can go faster. These marketing types don’t seem to know jack about what they are selling. Nice car, even the little head has promise, but badly let down by this ad campaign.

fast is a great icon, regardless of how “sexist” or “biased” the commercials may seem…i can’t tell you how many automobile commercials specifically target women for the sake of increased sales…the new GTI’s are pretty dope, i’v test driven the 05 and 06 but due to costs i bought a slightly used 04 GTI for myself and am thoroughly impressed with it is performance and handling, previously being a 300zx owner and working for nissan i decided to make the switch to VW and run with those due to personal preferences and affordability.
