Oh dude. It’s already not bearing well remarks from car magazines like Car and Driver and VW enthusiasts. I’m telling you it’s gonna be a major loss for them.

It has, they’ve widely publicized it too. It’s brought the price down but it’s also dumbed down the cars. The new Jetta has rear DRUM brakes for christ’s sake. The rear suspension has also been completely cost-cut as well. I buy German because they have a soul and style that Japanese cars do not. The new Jetta is turning into a Japanese wannabe.

I’m with you. They’ve already wrecked the Jetta and turned it into a beige-mobile, they’re going to alienate any of their current widespread fanbase by trying to push this “mainstream” whatever it is.

I’d 100% buy an Amarok, so long as it was TDI.

Figures – the only vehicle in VW’s lineup I would actually consider taking a risk on buying (reliability fears) and its canceled. Good luck with those Jettas VW

Or RAM, should they opt to get back to making Mid-sized trucks.

But I would like to see a the new Ranger, though some news says it may be a car-based, C-platform, truck not unlike a smaller Denali XT (A concept that never got built).

That’s too bad. I guess it now falls on Chevy to come up with a serious competitor to the Tacoma. Unless, of course, Ford actually gets their sh*t together and brings over the Global Ranger.

So, like I said, I guess that leaves it up to Chevy.

I hate to say it. But I think I see the cost cutting in VWs entire lineup. For example, You look at the HVAC controls and they changed them all. They’re more cheap looking than before. They used to be digital with temp display now they’re these knobs with LED lights pointing to the temperature. Yeah. I think the cost cutting spread to all the models. Sad. Very sad. Well Audi, atleast you haven’t changed on me.

I saw a silver Amarok quad cab truck yesterday on the I-10 freeway in Phoenix with manufacturer plates. Guess it has arrived in North America!
