Volkswagen unwrapped it most stylish four-door sedan yet today at the Los Angeles Auto Show. The 2013 CC, which will go on sale next year, is closely related to the existing model, but it offers new features and a style update to put it more in line with the company’s latest design language.

In addition to fully refreshed front and rear fascias, the new CC also gains additional standard equipment, including Bi-Xenon headlights with VW’s Adaptive Front Lighting System and LED taillamps. Other added standard features include fatigue detection, an RCD 310 CD player, stainless steel door sill plates and the addition of longitudinal adjustment for the headrests on the front seats.

The 2.0-liter, 200 horsepower TSI engine will carry over as the base engine with a six-speed manual or DSG transmission, while mid-grade models will make use of a six-speed DSG automatic with Tiptronic transmission. The range-topping V6 models will continue use of its 3.6-liter V6, good for 280 horsepower. VW’s 4Motion all-wheel-drive is on the option list.

The lineup
The range starts at the bottom end with 2.0T Sport. New 17-inch alloy wheels with run-flat tires are standard, as well as heated power front seats, rain-sensing wipers, an eight-speaker stereo with a 6-CD changer, Bluetooth, automatic climate control and leatherette seats. Both manual and DSG are available.

From there, the Sport Plus adds HID headlamps, 18-inch alloy wheels and navigation. A choice of transmissions remains available.

An R-Line trim level for 2.0T models adds its own styling upgrades inside and out. VW says that the R-Line trim will be a delayed-introduction option.

Topping the 2.0T line is the Lux trim, which adds the DSG, different 18-inch wheels, a power glass sunroof and ambient lights.

Two V6 models will be on offer, the Lux, which adds leather seats and an upgraded navigation system to the 2.0T Lux, and the 4Motion Exclusive with all-wheel-drive and a massaging driver’s seat.
