VW Up, also has a 1.2L 105 HP Powertrain ready to go as well.

I’m not buying this story about the E Version coming to America, but I do buy the 1.2 105 HP engine coming to America, as that would be acceptable for what Americans what from the most basic small car.

VW could start this at $11K or something, and with 105 HP in an A Segment car; this will be a little rocket.

Because VW wasn’t supposed to be a product priced like a Toyota. They were supposed and always have been seen as a more premium alternative to your average Honda and Toyota. Only bozos like Jacoby would think of sacrificing VW enthusiasts that buy them for this reason just so they can increase sales by cost cutting VW best selling model.

I don’t hate VW. On the contrary. That 2011 Jetta ruined my year by being a wannabe Corolla literally. It’s not how I picture VW.

Love the design language but VW is the one car brand my wife forbids me to shop owing to her friends’ horrific experiences with VW products. We know two New Beetle owners left weeping with frustration over their appalling build quality and VW’s refusal to back these products. I’d like a GTI as much as the next man but because of VW’s basement-level quality rep I’m in a Mazda 3. I don’t know if VW realizes just how bad the word on the street is about build quality.

I hope vwboig600 is right about them throwing every model at us. I fear we will get more dreary oversized sedans and some SUVs rather than their world award winners like the Polo etc.

All the VW haters…. They are here to stay and to sell hundreds of thousands in the next few years. I do not know why anyone wouldn’t embrace a product that’s is superior for the same money. This car looks cool but… Would be much happier if it was a polo! Lets face it…. VW wants to sell a bigiilion vehicles here in the next few years we are going to get every model they can possibly throw at us.

Took me awhile to realize that “Up” was the name of the model. I didn’t know what it meant by “VW Up on U.S. soil.” I took it as VW was thinking of leaving US soil. Breath of relief.

Wow.. great minds.. I was just thinking that VW should be dropping Polos on US soil long before the new Lupo.. maybe then they wouldn’t have to bombard us with sub-par Jettas.
