They won't do AWD on this car as it will start to step on the toes of the A4 Cab and TT Roadster.

The truth about cars website just got done torpedoing this car in their review. It's rather harsh for what's really a well thought out car. I can't imagine why they choose not to see the beauty of this car.

1952 MG TD-- Country of origin has everything to do with it when Germany is involved. They make/design shiat better there.

Jeff -- It may be assembled in Portugal but it is German design.

1c3d0g -- The VR6 has more in common with an I-6 than a V-6. I don't know why they have chosen to market the VR6 as a V motor, but they have. The new motor has live only a 15 degree angle and sigle head. The VR6 is more like an I-6 that has been compressed on both ends, It is very trick and very smooth. It allows a 6 to fit where only a 4 could reside.

Toy Yoda -- There will NOT be an AWD version. The chassis bracing prevents a driveshaft going back there. FWD only.

ss -- the Car and Driver article I read said AWD was not planned. That is what I read.

I saw this car yesterday. Fabulous construction. Just watch the top go up and down is a work of art. Very Benz SL-esque. Uber complex as only the Germans can do.

You really will not be able to compare the Pontiac G6 to this machine when you see them close. The VW fit and finnish is superior.

I fell in love with the Eos the moment I saw it in February. I have a deposit down to the first in my town to get one.. My dealer is so cool he let me order both the turbo and the V6 just the way I wanted it so I can decide which one I want.. Sweet!!!

Well with the Eos you can get a 6 speed DSG automatic and with the G6 you get a regular 4 speed auto.

The Eos has a great direct injection turbo 4 cylinder that makes 200 hp and should get great gas mileage or a 3.2 liter V6 with 250 hp and slightly lower mileage. The G6 motors are larger, heavier, make less hp and get worse gas mileage.

I saw one of these last week and the sticker price was just over $36K. And why wouldn't I get a G35 coupe for less money instead?

Treppy... I don't remember ragging on anyone about the eos.... please quote and link to that thread.

The eos is after the crossfire and pacifica, so yes, I can say that the picture in this article of the eos reminds me of the '07 sebring when looking at the a pillar, keyhole lights, and general arc where the hood meets the grill.

Wonderful car - test drove it twice. But, you cannot get the options pictured in most of the press releases. Not the saffire blue, not red interior, not grey interior with the island grey. Someone in their marketing group is not talking to the production group.

Uhhh probably because VW does not have an Inline 6 and secondly an inline 6 has a hard time fiting in a FWD car.

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/VR6_engine

Brief history of the VR6 motor and just from me skiming it it seems fairly accurate.

Odd. Why wouldn't they go for an I-6 immediately then? Space constraints?

Narrow angle V6 means the VR6 motor that only has a 18 or so degree V angle and uses a single head for both cylinder banks.

Jay, they probably mean a 60 degree V-6 as opposed to the usual 90 degree V-6.

It's nice inside but rather boring on the outside. I think the money is better spent on the Volvo.

Don't know about best selling in Europe though....have seen only two on the road here in Germany but have seen several Astra twin-tops.

What's a narrow angle V6? Is that like a W6 or something?
For some reason I can't open the pictures but from what I heard it will be a cool car

Renton, I would not put a vehicle on top simply beause of the country of origin. The whole segment has some great offerings, and maybe its just the DCX fan in me showing, but I have extremely high hopes for the sebring conv.

not saying that it is the best, just that I wouldn't write it off before it is even introduced.

keyhole lights and general shapes remind me of the new sebring.

Should be interesting to see the touring convertible market offerings in battle (c70, eos, sebring, g6, solara, eclipse)
