That’s if GM is still around then.

all joking aside. It comes down to 3 major factors marketing, personal preferance or experience. However there’s validity in some of the statements. For example is reliability, quality and resale is a general commonality amongst all manufacturers.VW has always had it’s qwerks. I think a strong point for vw is the interior It feels generally solid and with the newer drivetrains 2.5l and new tdi it is rumoured there will be 2nd version that will be replacing the timing belt with a timing chain, alittle more noise but more reliable. I can’t say that about alot of the japanese cars these days, they have way too much plastic. Now there are exceptions the new honda accord, camry, and the higher end lexus/infiniti do not suffer from the tupperware curse. I think every car has a strong point but to find that perfect car it’s almost impossible. So it boils down to marketing, personal preferance or experience. I spent alot of my childhood summers in a vw bus and raised driving vw, my brother is vw technician. I tend to lean to vw because of the familiarity and family history.

Dear Zeek,
I’m so suprised, why do people in America thinkJetta and golf are cars for girls? In France many men young and old drive these cars and Jetta is considered like a family car. Average Golf driver are 40 years old.
Do you considered that car size is equal to your penis. Bigger is better ???
Last point, I agree with you, Jetta is ugly.

I think that the next gen. Jetta should have some exterior characteristics of the Phaeton. The headlights and hood should be redesigned. And keep the chrome…

But I really have to say,
Im not a big fan of the Jetta. Id rather a Mazda 3!

Hey Jordan, the Mazda 3 is a pile of garbage. Dont believe the hype about Japanese reliability!

My wifes Honda Odyssey has had a rebuilt transmission, replaced rotors due to warping, sliding door falls off onto my sons foot, rattles and leaks oil. All before the 20k mile mark. My older sons new Toyota Tundra breaks a camshaft and has stalling problems with a truck that has less than 5k miles on it. I’m dumping them as soon as I can.

This new / old looking front looks awful…. like a cheap 3rd world car from 1998.

They didn’t make the VW emblem big enough. Make it bigger. It should be at least a foot in diameter.

I know alot of people who would rather drive a car that doesn’t look like ass.
These are mainly girls though, probably the largest sector of people who buy these cars anyways

The Cruze is going to kick this cars a$$ even more than the Mazda 3. Americans don’t want subpar quality and big reliability issues. They’d rather drive a GM that will last for decades without any problems.
