Volkswagen ’s New Beetle – which hasn’t been new in about a decade – will wrap up production soon with a series of 3,000 Final Edition trim packages before an all-new New Beetle bows.
Split equally between 1,500 hardtop and 1,500 convertible models, the Final Editions will be in dealers in Spring. The hardtops feature Aquarius Blue paint with a black roof, while the convertibles go retro with a similarly Aquarius Blue base and a Campanella White center section. Each will get individually numbered badges and special integrated fog lamps outside.

Inside, the Final Editions get a unique steering wheel and convertibles will come with a white vinyl interior that matches the white top.

VW says that the otherwise optional sport suspension and 17-inch alloy wheels will be standard on the Final Editions.

No mechanical changes will be made to the 2.5-liter five-cylinder gas engine and six-speed Tiptronic automatic.

The hardtop will be offered at $20,240 and the convertible will retail from $27,170.
