As a 40 year old, I see every kid around here geting a 3-series for their sweet 16, and every old fart driving a Lexus ES, so what do you get for your $40K? and then, when looking at a S80 for the same price as the much smaller A4 or C-Class, the choice became clear.

That being said, Volvo needs to up the ante on performance a bit, focus on MPG and lay off the safety gadgets that even lesser brands can offer and nobody uses.

You have no clue whatsoever, Howsmydriving; I can safely say your driving is swerving off the road. Not only does Volvo hold the standing record for million-mile cars, about 80% of the modern safety equipment for cars debuted on Volvo platforms before it was widely adopted by the rest of the market. The only mistake Volvo ever made was getting tangled up with the ship of fools at Ford.

Perhaps Volvo could look into stealth technology since they’re already so far off the radar for most buyers.

He might be able to turn a profit, but he won’t be able to stop Volvo’s from sucking as automobiles. Volvo’s have always sucked, they suck presently, and they will always suck in the future. You can’t change this inexorable principle….
