Volvo has released UK pricing information for its all-new XC60 compact SUV, and it looks as though the Swedish automaker plans to under cut the competition. The XC60 will list from £24,750 ($48,700) when it hits UK showrooms this summer, nearly £5,000 ($9,800) less than a comparable BMW X3 .
XC60 buyers will be able to choose from one of three models — base S, SE and SE Lux. On top of those three choice, buyers will also be able to choose from three engines — two versions of Volvo’s D5 turbodiesel (one making 161 horsepower and the other 182) and a 281 horsepower six-cylinder gas engine (which will only be available on SE and SE Lux models).

The base S model will come equipped with 17 inch wheels, fog lights, climate control, a host of electronic safety features and an MP3 stereo system while the SE trim level (£26,250) will add Hill Descent Control, power seats and mirrors and chrome window trim.

The range-topping SE Lux (£28,750) will check in with features like 18 inch wheels, active headlights, rear park assist, power liftgate, leather upholstery, Nordic Light Oak natural wood trim and heated front seats.

If Volvo keeps to its XC60 pricing scheme, look for the compact SUV to start from in the low to mid 30s when it hits U.S. showrooms.
