Should Saab be sold to Swedish sports car manufacturer Koenigsegg, as reports out of the Northern European country have indicated, a very small portion of the Trollhattan-based automaker would ironically be owned by its cross-country arch rival, Ford-owned Volvo.
That would be an awfully small share, however, as Sweden’s Dagens Industri reports that Volvo controls just 3,750 shares of Koenigsegg, which it received in exchange for allowing the high-performance carmaker to use its wind tunnels.
The share of Koenigsegg is so small that even Volvo’s home country spokesperson was caught off guard.
“I don’t know of any holdings [in Koenigsegg] and I haven’t been able to find any information”, Stefan Elfström told the newspaper.
Koenigsegg lists 111 different owners, though the majority of the company is held by Eker Group, a Norwegian holding company, and founder Christian von Koenigsegg.

3,750 shares? They’re just lucky this isn’t Porsche or they’d be planning a takeover.
