Maybe I’m missing something but:

2588-2355=233

233/2588=.090031

Looks pretty close to 9% to me.

funny how the first two articles on the home page right now say VW, Audi, BMW, Porsche sales fall while Toyota, Honda, and Nissan sales rise

I don’t mean to offend A4, but it doesn’t exactly sound like he’s sobered up yet. I’m envious.

Anyway, the only reason I’m posting here is to make a point about how the LLN community should realize how different it is from the automotive community at large. Reading the posts on this site you’d think the 335 is the second coming of Christ, yet overall BMW sales are down.

Also, what the hell is an 809? is that some kind of code for the Cayenne or something else?

nowei, if the LLN ‘community’ would realize that this site would take a huge jump in quality IMHO.
The auto industry has about the most fickle clientel of any business. But the folks here represent such a tiny percentage of even just the enthusiast realm.

The % decrease is based on Daily sales rates and I have no idea how they work those out

@nowei: Just because the people on this blog WANT a 335 doesn’t mean they can AFFORD one. I think a lot of the comments posted here are wishful thinking. I could be wrong, but it’s possible.

It’s interesting to see sales down. I’m wondering why. Perhaps this is a sign of a slowing economy in America? marketwatch.com had articles along this line. Perhaps people are buying Jap cars because they don’t have as much buying power and Toyota’s are “cheaper”.

I guess I’m part of the numbers this month, if used cars count. I just got a 03 Sentra SE-R specV (fell into the October numbers). Woot! Truely, it’s no BMW, but I’m diggin it.

No, it still looks like the consumers like the German cars. VW, BMW, and Porsche YTD sales are higher than last year’s YTD.

No, it’s people realizing you don’t need a 400 hp RWD German car when a 200 hp FWD Japanese/American car for 1/3 the price won’t make any difference in daily driving.

The 335 is the second coming of Christ? Are you kidding? That’s an insult. To the 335.

In that vein: can anyone tell me why I should NOT buy a 335? Perhaps I should wait for the 300 hp version of the 2-liter Audi TT? Will that ever happen?

THE ONLY REASON PORSCHE SALES ARE DOWN IS THE CUSTOMERS GOT THERE NEW 997 LAST YEAR, WHEN IT WAS NEW. THE MAJORITY OF PEOPLE THAT WHERE GOING TO BUY A 997 ALREADY HAVE. BUYING A 2005 911 WAS SOMETHING TO BRAG ABOUT, BECAUSE IT WAS ALL NEW. BOXSTER SALES ARE UP BECAUSE THOSE CUSTOMERS WHERE WAITING TO SEE THE CAYMAN.
FOR THE MONEY THE CAYMAM IS TWICE THE CAR THE BOXSTER IS. THE ONLY REASON SOMEBODY WOULD BUY A BOXSTER OVER A CAYMAN S IS IF THEY WANTED A CAB.

The German quality is so high that the cars don’t need to be renewed/replaced.An interesting almost anomoly.People tend to hang on to cars like the original Rabbit for like an eternity. Also, the quality is so high,a lot of owners don’t bother maintaining them. One example:a 20 plus year old VW found not to have had the radiator flushed, etc, etc, etc….
