The part about the fuel and engine blah blah blah is all good, BUT intill now I havent seen the next generation Golf.. and I dont like it. The headlights look to, uhm, Tiguan.. The price better stay the same, because thats what the Golf is all about. Good quality, good “mpg” good looks and all affordable.

Gotta understand the market it’s in. Most vehicles in this segment average around 10-15 seconds 0 to 60. So yes, this is pretty good.

And hey, its no fun to drive a fast car slow, but it’s a helluva lot funner driving a slow car fast =D

Oh bleenky you must be in your 20’s. I’m 40 and average family cars in the late 70’s and early 80’s had 0-60’s in the 12-15 second range. To me 8 seconds is very fast, and 6 is supercar. Now Toyota Camry’s are in the upper 6s

It’s pretty good for that mpg, but even if you’re getting 100 mpg, 11.3 seconds is anything but respectable. I guess I’m just having a problem with LLN’s choice of words. “11.3 is pretty good for a car with 100 hp that gets 62 mpg.” I wouldn’t have argued with that statement because it’s true, but for anything to be “respectable” I’d say has to be less than 8 seconds.
