Volkswagen ’s new Jetta Sportwagen, the much anticipated station wagon version of the Jetta sedan, will not be released this fall as expected. Sales are said to be on target for a first of the year introduction in 2008.
According to a report, the most practical of Jettas will initially be released in three variations: 2.5 liter 5-cylinder; clean 50-state-legal diesel; and a limited availability (at least initially) 2.0 liter FSI turbo four cylinder. The diesel is set to arrive in dealers in March. Jetta sedans using the motor are expected to arrive at the same time.
