I just don’t see a stronger demand for VW’s in North America. That being said, I think the plant will be in either Hawaii, Alaska, Puerto Rico, or Guam. Possibly Catalina Island. Far far away….

In order to be anywhere near success today WV needs 4 cylinder economical and efficient engine for Golf/Rabbit type car. They could not certify one for ages. Their current 2.0L TDFI is more expensive then 5 cylinder one and less frugal as well. That leaves them with no cars to sell. How is the new assembly line will remedy this?

Yeeehawww VW! 300,000 vehicles per year should translate into about 1,200,000 new vehicle recalls per year! Way to stay ahead of the pack!

We’re halfway through 2008, they haven’t decided on a location yet, and they expect to be producing cars by 2010? GM can’t even bring the Camaro out in less than 7 years.
