Amazing... Only Ford can take another of the U.S.'s best selling nameplates in history and mismanage it soooo badly that it's no longer viable. Ranger, Taurus, Escort, and likely soon, Focus. All within about 10 year's time too...

I hope they teach this in business schools one day, because this degree of brand mismangement on such a visible corporate level is really one for the record books.

Like GM, Ford's US brass subscribe to the "we didn't design it so we don't want it" mentality, and so most of the better and more clever international Ford and GM products pass the US market by.

Instead we get more of "The Best Explorer Ever", Freestars, Azteks, Envoy XLs and whatever other mediocre crap they think the American public will buy even though at the same time Toyota, Honda, Nissan, Subaru, etc. sell more and more..

Brilliant mindset guys..

just like the European Focus, and the Mondeo.

Excellent cars that get rave reviews but never come to the U.S.

I seriously think Ford has issues with evaluating demand...
