Will the 2008 Audi A5 look like this?

06/28/2006, 1:23 PM

By admin

The latest issue of Germany’s AutoBild magazine features a cover story on the forthcoming Audi A5 coupe. The image is particularly interesting, because the magazine tends to accurately predict vehicle designs as their launch draws near. The A5 is expected to be unveiled either later this year (in September), or early next. Recently, AutoExpress said the car would be in showrooms in mid-2007. The new illustration shows a car with typical Audi characteristics, widened shoulders, and a somewhat conservative roofline. The car appears to be a toned-down version of the very popular Nuvolari concept — which would be a disappointment to many fans if true. Cover scan after the jump…

If it does, SIGN ME UP! Much better looking than the BMW 3 Series Coupe, which to me is a bit boring

It’s just a bigger TT. Which is ok, if they rename the TT the A3 for consistency. And rename the A3 to uh… something else.

Viet Dong: You’re right, but these magazines do have a lot of sources and they get ahold of leaked drawings and photos and so on. That may or may not be the case with this image. You never know with autobild.

If Audis really looked like the recent “artists’ conceptions”, their sales would skyrocket. This one included, that is a great-looking midsize coupe.

LLN: Yeah, they are either spot on orclose almost everytime. Regardless, if the production coupe is even close to this one, then they will murder the 3 series and CLK convertables.

Cadillac is crap. Comparing a CTS (even a CTS-V) to an Audi S line or an RS line is assenine.

Get into an S4 or an RS4 and tell me you’d still drive a CT****. Don’t insult our intelligence.
