The car is just a tech showcase that costs them 5 million to make, so they lose a lot of money on it. Since sales have been better than expected, why not jack up the price so they wont lose to much money? At 1.9 million they are hoping that there wont be a high demand for the car and their sales would be just right. I know why its so much more expensive.
