Wolfgang Bernhard is apparently under very serious consideration to become chairman of the board at the new Cerberus-owned Chrysler . Bernhard was once the Chief Operating Officer for the Chrysler division of Daimler Chrysler, but after conflicts with then-DaimlerChrysler CEO Jurgen Schrempp, Bernhard left the group entirely.
Bernhard was Chrysler’s COO from 2000 to 2004, during which cars like the Chrysler 300 were developed. Bernhard then led Volkswagen AG’s premier brand until January of this year, when he was ousted with a few other high-ranking members by VW Chairman Ferdinand Piech.

Automotive News is reporting that Bernhard is under serious consideration by Cerberus management to become chairman of the board at Chrysler . Bernhard has been a Cerberus senior adviser since before the group became the leading bidder for Chrysler.
