Comments on: Wolfsburg Jetta, Fahrenheit GTI, GLI, Triple White Beetle

Bought the Fahrenheit GTI today, and it definitely doesn’t disappoint! It DOES have a sunroof fortunately, not sure what’s up with the one in the picture in this article… I was skeptical as I already have an R32, so with FWD only, DSG, and -40hp I never even planned to look at any of the GTI models. But all it took was a test drive and I was convinced! The suspension and steering are TIGHT and the car feels rock solid. Just needs some better tires to help the cornering which is a little soft out of the gate. But, that was true on the R as well, so no big surprise. And I have to say, kudos to VAG for the DSG transmission. I know the numbers say it’s faster than a 6 speed, and after about an hour in the car I’m starting to really understand it. Hit the gas full throttle at a stoplight while making a turn onto the cross street with a paddle on your fingertips to upshift, and feel the benefits first hand. Not to mention that by the time you hit 3rd gear and up, the shifts really are completely seamless with zero power interruption. And the car FEELS much faster than its actual numbers state, so kudos to VW for making a car again that fits enthusiastic driving. I know the R is faster, but the Fahrenheit feels just as fun.

Last, the Lamborghini based orange looks great on this car in person. Not many body styles could pull off a color like that, but this one does it well.

Anyone with half an interest in this car should rush out to their local dealer to see it first hand!

A4!, there is a 2007 White GLI!

Meanpants555!, VW does 3-4 special editions every model year. It appears that with 600 VW dealers every dealer will get approx. 2 Orange GTIs, 2 Yellow GLIs, and 5 Triple White Beetle Convertibles.

whoopie. Bright ass yellow and orange should be standard options on the color palette of all sporty cars. F— the grey/silver, navy blue, beige crap that most people seem to love.

Supercool! Love the colors, and they’re really quite Lambo-ish…The first Porsches were based on the VW type 1, so when’s the next Porsche based on The Beetle coming?
