Law enforcement officials in Britain are having a field day by making an example of a 22 year old woman who was caught driving while putting on her make-up. Donna Maddock was fined £200 for the offense, which took place while she was going 32 mph. She was also given six points on her licence. Ms Maddock was pictured on police spy cameras holding a compact mirror and an eye brush while driving.

she should have had her license revoked. Cars are for driving, phones are for talking and bathrooms are for make-up. I’ve nearly been run off the road by some stupid bimbo (or asshole) either puting on make-up, yelling at their children or talking on the phone so many times I’ve forgotten the count.

I see this sort of thing all the time here as wellas people shaving, eating b-fast, reading, etc. while they are “driving”.. I’d have NO problem if American police forces did the same as the Brits are as my commute would be alot smoother since there’d only be about 1/3 the traffic..

This is already against the law in many states. Officials just don’t enforce it.

In the BBC’s report they mentioned that she has recently lost her license for a separate bout of drink-driving.
They should bring the points system over here, too many stupid infractions and you lose your license for a while.

If this was implemented in the U.S., there would suddenly be a lot of funds for the roadway. Course, that’s for when the new government’s is working….

Putting on make-up, reading, talking on a phone, fiddeling with your hair, eating, etc. is all distracting. Pay attention and drive, it’s not that complicated.
