Chrysler decides to keep Smart

DaimlerChrysler has decided that it will keep the loss-marking Smart unit, despite pressure from shareholders to sell it, reports Germany's Handelsblatt newspaper. Several investors -- including Goldman Sachs -- have reportedly expressed an interest in buying Smart, according to the report. However, it looks like Smart is here to stay in Chrysler's lineup. Recently, DaimlerChrysler sold the rights to the Smart roadster and coupe to British consortium "Project Kimber."
