Redesigned Subaru B9 Tribeca to arrive in NY

Subaru will launch the redesigned B9 Tribeca crossover at the New York Auto Show in April, according to Automobile magazine. Under the hood, the Tribeca will get a modest boost to 254 horsepower (up from 245 hp), and more importantly, 247 pound-feet of torque (up from 215 lb-ft). Of course, the Tribeca's disappoint sales had much more to do with its controversial exterior than a lack of power. Accordingly, the crossover will get a revised exterior.

Subaru is expected to do away with the unusual grille design and clunky headlights. The changes will mark Subaru's first departure from its "propeller nose" design theme.

In August, company spokesman David Rowley said the propeller look would be scrapped. "It's fair to say the design will not appear on future Subarus," Rowley said.
