Ford to recall 3.6 million cars

Ford is recalling 3.6 million cars due to a faulty cruise control deactivation switch that could lead to a fire in the vehicles. Apparently Ford has had several instances of fire in Crown Victoria models, so the automaker is recalling more than a dozen different Ford products produced from 1992-2004.

The cruise control deactivation switch is apparently powered at all times, even when the vehicle is off, which could result in a fire, according to The Washington Post.

Vehicles included in the recall include the following Fords: '98-'02 Ranger, '92-'97 Crown Victoria, '93-'95 Taurus SHO, '99-'01 Explorer, '01-'02 Explorer Sport, '01-'02 Explorer Sport Trac, '92-'93 E150-350 vans, '97-'02 E150-350 vans, '93 F-Series pickups, '93 Bronco, '03-'04 F-150 Lightning and '95-'02 F53 motor homes. Mercury vehicles included are: '92-'97 Grand Marquis, '94 Capri and '99-'01 Mountaineer. Lincoln vehicles included are: '93-'98 Mark VIII and '92-'97 Town Car.
