Porsche releases launch date, price for Limited Edition Boxster

Porsche announced today the launch date as well as pricing for their up-coming Limited Edition Boxster and Boxster S. The 500 Limited Edition Boxster and Boxster S models will hit showroom floors on September 28, 2007 throughout the U.S. and Canada with a starting price of $49,000 and $59,000, respectively.

Both the Limited Edition Boxster and Boxster S will be painted a striking orange, a color that was once reserved for only the track-ready GT3 RS, and will wear "Limited Edition" plaques on their glove boxes. Other Limited Edition perks will include a sport exhaust system, body-colored safety bars, and a SportDesign package that includes spoiler lips in the front, an automatically extending and redesigned rear spoiler and a modified rear trim with integrated diffuser that provides a sportier appearance.

To contrast with the orange exterior color, Porsche has added several touches of black. Both cars come with black rims, 18's for the Boxster and 19's for the Boxster S, as well as black exterior mirrors and air inlets. The black theme carriers into the interior with black seats, steering wheel (the same as found in the 911 GT3), carpet, dash and door panels. Alcantara is also used throughout the interior to give the cabin a sportier and more up-scale feel. Pictures to follow.
