Spied: restyled Audi A3

Spy photographers have spotted a new Audi A3 with a revised front fascia. It appears as though the new A3 will better reflect Audi's corporate face seen on the all-new A4 and A5. The new A3 is characterized by a sharper front end incorporating the newly-designed single-frame grill and small fins on the lower edge of the bumper. It is also believed that the car's Xenon headlights will receive the same optic treatment found throughout the Audi lineup.

The A3 is scheduled to be replaced by an all-new model in 2009.

In an attempt to become a bigger player in the luxury segment currently occupied by BMW and Mercedes, Audi has given its entire lineup a similar corporate face. Although its cars are now easier to spot, Audi has been criticized for making its cars too bland and void of any unique-to-the-model styling. The most recent example of Audi's styling can be seen in the all-new A4 -- unveiled this week at the Frankfurt Motor Show.
