Report: All-new Saab 9-5 to hit showrooms in Q2

With the sale of General Motors' Saab brand to Spyker all but complete, the focus is now shifting to when the Swedish automaker's latest vehicles will hit the market. Saab has already revealed its all-new 9-5 sedan and the company's 9-4x crossover has long been in the works, but a new report indicates both models could launch within the next few months.

According to Edmunds, Spyker will move quickly with its recently acquired Saab brand, with the all new 9-5 sedan expected to enter full production in April, with a U.S. on-sale date sometime in the second quarter. A wagon variant of the 9-5 is also in the pipeline, but that model is still a few months off with U.S. availability unknown.

Production plans for the forthcoming 9-4x crossover remain unknown, but Saab has reported produced about 150 examples of the CUV at General Motors' Ramos Arizpe, Mexico - the same facility that produces the Cadillac SRX. The 9-4x will likely bow at March's Geneva Motor Show, indicating the crossover could be in showrooms by mid-year.

Look for Saab to make its return to the auto show circuit at next month's Chicago Auto Show.
