Spied: Road-going Porsche 911 GT3 Hybrid

Following the launch of its 911 GT3 R Hybrid racecar, Porsche appears to be readying a road-going version of the greener supercar. Our spy photographers have just sent us the first images of what appears to be a 911 GT3 Hybrid for the streets.

Porsche debuted the 911 GT3 R Hybrid race car at the Geneva Motor Show a few months ago. Then, at its second race in the Nurburgring Endurance Series, the GT3 R Hyrbid made the podium with a 3rd place finish.

Now Porsche seems ready to make another move with a hybrid version of the regular, road-going 911 GT3!

Caught in Germany, this GT3 test vehicle is sporting nearly the exact same bodywork we've seen on the GT3 R Hybrid race car. Specifically, we see the same vents on top of the rear fender as well as the air intakes that appear just in front of the rear fender.

Only time will tell exactly how much of the race car's powertrain will make it into this "regular" GT3 hybrid model. The racing version of the hybrid produced more than 500 horsepower, which would make for one wild production car.
